Miracles for Molly Dunne – Fundraiser

Please join us in Hockessin on Saturday, June 4th, 2011 for special edition mini-portrait sessions to help raise much needed funds for six year old Molly Dunne and her family. All session fees ($50) will go directly to the Dunne family, along with a portion of all print sales. A special day deserves special pricing! For these sessions only, we’re offering exclusive print collection pricing for the fundraising event.

To give you some background information on Molly, she is a 6 year old girl who was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension and HHT (Osler Weber Rendu) after collapsing at her first day of Kindergarten. A day that should have been a happy memory for her and her family, changed their life forever. After months of hospitalization and intensive rehabilitation, she was able to come home last month! With each passing day, Molly continues to get stronger and is making great progress. We’re hoping to help her and her family get back on their feet as well by helping offset the costs of medical care and other needs.

{ Beach Session 2010 } - Southern New Jersey Newborn, Children and Family Photographer

Well I was So happy when I got this call..because I'd been dying to do a beach session. I don't know what it is about the beach, but it brings out something refreshing and clean in photography! And I love everything there is to know and feel about the beach. The sun, the sand .. oh yeah and the boardwalk pizza =)

We live near the Jersey shore..so off we headed! The family was on their vacation and had a home right off the beach.

Mommy "E" was expecting her second child; so we combined a few maternity photo's in for her =)

Thanks family for giving me my beach session! We had dinner at that restaurant you recommended and it was perfect. You were incredible! ♥

Hey all I hope you have had a good week. I am again participating in Marta Locklear's photo challenge. I love it! So let me show you what this week is about..

I at first thought I would have a Big problem finding pink in my house. I can't say I decorate with it..but started looking and walking around. Duh Me moment!! I have Lots of pink in my Grandmothers china closet in my dining room. Loads!

I also have a few photographs in there. This one if a photo I won over at Shutter Sisters several years ago. I didn't even Know what a Peony was then. Boy I sure do know now tho! And also there is a glimpse of a few peaces of what I collect besides old camera's. I collect pink depression glass. All differant kinds. Don't have to match. You get the idea. I've been collecting these for years and years.

Here is a pullback photo of my china closet. This was my grandmothers and I cherish it. I have her Orchid Heisey glass in there amongst my wine glasses and various other glass items. Oh and did I tell you? I also have a small collection of teacups. =)

Pink Hobnail. Yum ♥

And a few other pinks from my home. I have silk peonys which I use when I don't have fresh ones to enjoy. And the pink diamond? I saw it when hubby and I were out to dinner at Cracker Barrel. He wondered why I bought it..now he knows. He thinks its so funny that I buy things to photograph them.

These photos were all shot with my Canon Macro lens. I Love the softness and depth it gives.

{ LEADERSHIP } Blooms 52 Week Friday Challenge

Well this week my Bloom group had me thinking for days trying to decide how I would use the word Leadership in this weeks challenge. It was not an easy one for me I can tell you that. I have some very definite idea's and thoughts about what Good Leadership and what Bad or Neglectful Leadership is. I've seen more than my share of failed leadership roles. I am always challenged in my nursing role when I do my yearly self evaluation and come to the question.."How can you be a better leader." I am most definitely Not a leader. Not a follower either; probably more like a loner. A dreamer. I dance to a different drum =)

So my photo's today portray Leadership this way. I guess I'm coming at it from a negative view, but then we're here to explore and think yes?
In the first photo all the geese are doing their own thing and just plain old ignoring that goose sitting in the front. I'm making Him the leader in this exercise. Is he leading? Not very well.

In the second photo this portrays what happens when there is No clear leadership shown. *flapflapflap* panic and scattering. Oh and make note of that large bird sitting quietly in the tree just watching. He's just waiting for his chance. Hm!
Again, do you see any relation?

Am I stretching it too far this week? Maybe.

{ Shades of Red - Love } Bloom's 52 week Friday Challenge

Hey Happy Valentines Day friends!

Yes I know it was a few days ago, but I proclaim it Valentine Week. So there lol.

This weeks Bloom Challenge is Shades of Red - Love. I thought about it for days and then got caught up with work stuff and never sat down and got my post together.

Until today.

As I was going through my work of the past week or so I came across the photo below. Perfect!! It speaks to me on many levels, so let me share with you my thoughts.

I love photography. I hope you see that. And I love nature photography. I love meeting new friends and sharing common goals and interests.

I met with another Delaware photographer who inspires the Heck out of me last week. We met up at a local state park and just walked around chatting and shooting what we saw. We had been Facebook friends for months; but finally made a point to get together and meet in person. What a great morning we had! It's so neat to have friends who you can talk to and learn from.

Now my lens. This was shot with my Canon 2.8L Macro lens. To those of you who don't understand what that means...well it's a top shelf lens. I had been wanting to buy an "L" lens for some time; but the price is quite hefty. So I waited and researched and talked with other photog friends. Then I took the plunge. And I never looked back. I can now take itsy bitsy photo's of flowers and ants and well you get the point. Anything!

And I also can use it for my Newborn work to capture eyelashes and little parts.

I love this lens. Can you tell yet?

Lastly let me share my photo with you. I saw the bush with berries near a building in this Delaware State Park. I knew the berries would shine in the gorgeous winter light.

So this weeks photo was taken with a lens I love in a place I now love and with a friend who I can share my love of photography with. Perfect!

{ Little Baby K } - Southern New Jersey Newborn Photographer

One sweet baby newborn girl and her mother and father and I met on a cool fall day to document her new place in this family.

She was lovely and sweet and darling and...oh well you get the point. Perfect. She is perfect.

I had a wonderful time and captured some precious moments of this newly formed family of 3. I love meeting new babes and she didn't disappoint me one bit!

She slept like an angel =)

I wanted to share a few of my personal favs from that day. I see her little face on Facebook now and she's growing up so fast! So here is a glimpse into that day. Thanks for allowing me the pleasure and honor of doing your newborn photographs.

{ Inspire } - Blooms 52 Friday Challenge

Hey I have something very important to share with you. I am taking on a project with a wonderful group of photographers. It's called "52 Friday Challenge Group" and we're group #7! I am now a member of The Bloom Forum, www.thebloomforum.com/ and this is an weekly exercise for 2011.

Basically we will be given a word each week to describe and share on our blogs. Then we will link our blogs so you can have a Ginormous Photography Experience! Its a very creative and exciting share, and I hope you join me in my walk. I will be letting everyone know through Facebook so you don't miss out.

This is our first week. Yes we're a little late on the bandwagon, but they created this group Just for Us. So onward..

The word this week is Inspire.

What inspires you. Well exactly what inspires me? Lots. So as I study and observe how the masters have perfected their craft * see list above * I am striving to be just an tiny bit better each time at it. And yes. I'm so very inspired by the minute perfection I see in their work.

So one thing I've been working on at my Newborn sessions are documenting the little bits. Ears, noses and eyelashes. So precious!

Hey all. I found this Inspiring and Exciting photo journey to jump into and I did, although a bit late. But if you have time, check out www.martalocklear.com/blog and look for her Texture/Hue photo challenge.

In the winter, for me at least; I am not photographing people as much as the warmer months. So this is a great way to expand my artistic vision and really shoot for Me...and I've been loving it!

I just found this a few weeks ago, so I missed the first 5 weeks. But never too late right? If I can find the time I might even do the weeks I missed. Yeah I'm a geek like that =D

I really enjoyed looking around my surroundings and finding the objects to photograph. I decided to use my Macro lens because I love how it can focus up sooo close and make photos sooo creamy.

I was so happy to photograph this Sweet little girl for one of my coworkers sister. She was very sleepy and posed so nicely for all our photo's...like she was enjoying it!

I knitted this lovely mohair wrap and she was the first baby girl to try it out. I need to make some more!

Ok I admit it. Newborn toes are the best. Yummy. My fav =)

..and what a Proud Big Brother she has!

Sweet Chubs - {Southern New Jersey Newborn Photographer}

Oh what a sweet chub this little guy was.

I met him on his 7th day of life and he was an absolute joy to work with. I am partial to big babies since mine were all chubs too.

And what wonderful parents he has. Really enjoyed my short time with the "L" family. And I hope that you enjoy seeing these photo's of Nicholas =)

Wow what a Head of Hair!! And the curls! *swooons*..to die for!!

Connie and Fred 2010 - {Southern New Jersey Family Photographer}

Connie and I are friends. Old friends..like going on 30yr friends.

So when my friend Connie said she would love a photo of her and her hubby Fred sometime I said I'd love to.

So we had a little cookout and caught up on our lives. Then we jumped in the car and drove down the road to a field where I knew I had seen hay bales.

And yes Marta Locklear you inspired me to include some hay in my photo's lol.
They smiled and probably thought I was a bit crazy when I told them to stand this way and that; but they complied. I Promised them that they would Love their images. And they did. Connie had made a special request for a forehead kissing photo. Her Freddy does this to her and she wanted to include that shot.

Connie had me design two gorgeous Storyboards so I thought I would give you a peek of how they came out too.

If you think you have to be 20 yrs old to have a fabulous portrait done I Hope this shows you how wrong you are.

He was so sweet and so sleepy..sometimes I swear we were keeping him up lol. And if his yawning photo doesn't melt your heart Nothing will!

It has been far too long between blog posts for me and I am now trying to catch up. I've had some incredible sessions over the summer and some beautiful subjects. It just makes me realize even more what a blessing it is to capture a moment of time for people to keep in a photo. I really do love my job =)

I had the incredible opportunity to second shoot with Julie Marie of Julie Marie Photography in August. It was exciting to work with such a great photographer as Julie; and the wedding was...well stunning.

The bride and groom had this photo done with thousands of snapshots. I have no idea how the artist did this..but it was so Unique! The ladies thought so too!

Our bride *P* was stunning. You could just read the Joy and Love all over her face as she waited to start her walk down the isle.

And announcing "Mr. and Mrs."

This has to be the most original and interesting wedding cake Ever. The Taj Mahal!

The brides brother offering up a toast to the happy couple. He was so sweet and had tears in his eyes. I love seeing families like this!

{Jemma and Julia} - Southern New Jersey Newborn/Family Photographer

I was blessed a short while ago with meeting the G family. They are the proud parents of Jemma and Julia and wanted some newborn/family photo's.

Little Jemma had a swallowing problem at birth and required an Nasogastric tube for her feedings until she learned how to swallow properly. I told Mom no worrys. I would be there and do my best to get them some lovely memory's of this time in their life.

Oh boy did I have some fun with Julia running around the yard! She loved looking at the camera and I took advantage of that and snapped some nice ones of her. When I looked at them later I knew Right away her portraits would be stunning. She's beautiful!

Jemma was a dream too. She tolerated being undressed and slept peacefully for her photo's.

I just love the family photo's tho. You can see the love in mom and dads eyes as they hold their daughters close for their family portrait. It's perfect. What do you think?

I happen to be sorta partial to big babies. Maybe because mine were all around 11lbs. more or less lol. So when I met this little guy Charles I fell in Love with his chubbiness! And what a lovely family he has. A big sister and a loving Mommy and Daddy who were clearly totally head over heels in love with him. I had a wonderful session and got some lovely remembrance's of his newborn gorgeousness. I hope I'm using all real words here...hard not to gush over Charles =)

I feel so very blessed here. I work with this sweet baby's mom and couldn't wait to get my hands on him for his first photo's. He was a doll, fighting sleep but then falling peacefully off so we could get those snuggly sleeping poses.

He has the best head of hair and the sweetest personality. What a cutie! I was thrilled to meet him!

We had fun that day. I hope Mom *Tiff* is enjoying her time off with little guy and I hope she enjoys these photo's as much as I enjoyed taking them. See you soon Tiffany =)

I love doing sessions with newborns. And I have a special affinity for big squishy babies because I had all Big squishy babies myself. =)

Charles was the sweetest and most compliant little guy I've seen in awhile. He quickly fell asleep and let us move him around and even put the cute little hats on him. What a champ!!

I have been such a naughty blogger; and for this I am truly sorry. I promise to do Much better and I truly have so much to share with you!

I met with Amy and Tim after consulting with them about their engagement in a lovely Delaware park. The day had turned very hot and the sun was blazing; but it was no deterant to this lovely couple. You know how some men aren't crazy about those sweet romantic shots? Well not Tim! He was awesome and even suggested a few poses. We had a blast together and their love was so apparent. I can't wait to be a part of their wedding. And wait!! It's this coming Saturday so stay tuned!

Mary Grace - {Southern New Jersey Newborn Photographer}

Well I had the most wonderful newborn session last week and I've been dying to show you. I work with the mommy and was very happy when she contacted me to do her sweet new baby girls portrait's. We got snowed out that weekend and had to postpone til the next weekend; but it all worked out just fine. Mary Grace is a perfect baby. She has the sweetest personality ever! And her skin. No baby acne here! She has perfect skin. We worked together and then took a few of the boys and then the family.
I hope you enjoy them. And Megan..you have a lovely family!!

Toes are one of my fav baby parts. Soooo sweet!!

Little "I" was such a joy to photograph.

She was shy. I had to get her to warm up to me and it was So cold that day; but we got some very endearing photo's in the end.

Lula (aka Larry) came along for the shoot since he doesn't leave her side. Mommy is an expert seamstress as she has almost completely replaced most of Lalu's body over time. Let's just say the pups in the house like to take little bites of him lol.

So I hope you like your photo's M & AM as much as I do =)

I did a session last summer for a lovely family. They had just welcomed their third daughter and I was blessed to capture some wonderful photo's for them.

An Engagement Session with Bernice and Robert - Southern New Jersey Lifestyle Photographer

I am so lucky to work with Bernice, and when she asked me about doing her engagement photo's I was over the moon! She is a wonderful and kind person (and beautiful as you can see) and we set up her time and looked forward to it together. I knew I needed to take a few really nice photo's of her ring; since the photo's were going back oversea's to Africa and would be displayed at their engagement party. Unfortionately Bernice and Robert could not be present but the show would go on! After doing our session I was really happy with her photo's; but couldn't post them until after the actual party. I feel like I've been keeping a wonderful special secret. I wish you and Robert a happy and long marriage Bernice. And lots of love...and babies =)

I had the wonderful opportunity to do some Senior Photo's last week. This gorgeous girl is the daughter of one of my coworkers. We met up at a local park and took advantage of the last bits of fall. Yes we Found color! She was a great sport; doing everything I asked. I got some very nice photo's of her and I wanted to share. More to come!

Ok guys. I hope you can be a bit patient with me as I try and get this blog looking Just the way I want it to look. I'm still working..and reading on how to customize the header. Thats that strip up there with the photo's. Trust me I'm trying to learn this HTML stuff..but it's not easy. But I Will get it. So stay tuned.

What I delight I had in doing these photo's for Amy. Her little guy is Too cute! He is now 1 yr. old and full of smiles and giggles. We had fun that day while the leaves were just starting to fall.
